When they grew up, Abel became a shepherd, while Cain cultivated the ground.
It is the will of God for everyone to have something to do in this world. Each son had a calling, but only one displayed action to show acceptance. Abel brought his best, while Cain presented less. Abel came as a sinner and by his sacrifice expressed obedience. Abel trusted that God had called him to his flock and brought a sacrifice to worship God. Cain showed a proud, unbelieving heart. His sacrifice was not offered in faith and displayed self-sufficiency. We must be obedient to God’s calling by offering ourselves completely (James 4:7).
Pray for a complete acceptance of your calling.
