Forgive them, for they know not what they do.
Luke 23:34
Jesus was in the greatest imaginable anguish. He does not respond with a passionate complaint, but a passionate concern. Jesus was praying for the soldiers who were nailing him to the cross. The soldiers were bound by duty. How can we hold people accountable for a standard they do not know? “Let your light shine out of the darkness” (1 Cor. 4:6). Reflect the light of Jesus and respond to others with care and lovingkindness.
Pray to forgive as Jesus forgives.
