“Take up [your] cross and follow.”
Matthew 16:24

Keeping the cross on our shoulder takes great power. Those who want to live a righteous life can expect formidable persecution on a variety of fronts (1 Tim. 3:12). The only way to reap the eternal benefits of identifying with Christ is to be training for righteousness (1 Tim. 4:8). It takes a daily, deliberate, Holy Spirit led effort to be fully identified. As disciples, we must cross-train to be fully focused on Christ and fit to follow.

Our nourishment comes from the truths of the faith found in the Bible (1 Tim 4:6). Acts of righteousness (giving, prayer, and fasting) will sculpt our spirit and give us the fortitude to follow (Matthew 6:1-16). We overcome skin deficiencies and get protection from the enemy as we supplement our faith with evangelism, discipleship, ministry, fellowship, and worship. It is through spiritual sustenance, sculpting, and supplementation that we can claim victory over our skin and be fit to follow!
