He is the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 2:2
If you have sinned, you cannot stand in the presence of God. God offered Christ as the sacrifice to remove the barrier which sin creates. Jesus is the propitiation or the substitute for our sin. Christ sacrificed Himself for our sins in order to secure God’s mercy. The value of Christ’s blood was sufficient to cover the sins of the whole world. This does not guarantee automatic forgiveness for everyone. The work of Christ applies to those who believe. “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
Pray to be forgiven and turn from sin.
