Matthew 4:18
Jesus was not calling the disciples to religious life. He was calling the disciples to a life of mission. Christians are not called into a building but sent into the biosphere. Simply, we must take the gospel everywhere that life exists. Mission is not something we initiate and then invite God to participate. Mission is what God is doing through us when we receive the Holy Spirit (Acts. 1:8). Mission is not something we do for Jesus; mission is something we do following Jesus.
