Indeed, the hairs of your head are all counted; don’t be afraid. Luke 12:7
Our lives occur under the universal providence of God. Simply, there is absolutely nothing that happens on this planet by chance. We may not understand our circumstances, but that does not mean life is random. God is so involved that He can number the hairs on our head. It would be practically impossible for any human to maintain an accurate count of the hair on their head. (Look it up!) In contrast, God knows all things with absolute, unmatched excellence and precision. He even determines the number of stars and calls them by name (Psalm 147:4). As a Christian, there is no reason to be anxious.
We define our borders when we allow apprehensive attitudes.
Anxiety is a feeling of worry or uncertainty. When we are anxious about worldly things it distracts us from authentically worshipping God. Instead of being anxious, we should “cast all our worries on God” (1 Peter 5:7). God is willing and able to take any overwhelming feelings and provide comfort. God will also prohibit any prodigious difficulties beyond your ability to bear (1 Corinthians 10:13).
We can be forever free of our worldly anxieties because God is near enough to number the hair on our heads! In what areas of your life are you anxious? How can you overcome an anxious attitude and live abundantly?
