Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:21

The infliction of vengeance is not a sign of strength, but weakness. It is easy to get even; it is edifying to be holy. Mercy and grace are the only appropriate ways to respond to those who have wronged us. “If someone slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him the other” (Matt. 5:39). Jesus is not talking about a physical injury, but a verbal insult. It is better to endure being insulted twice than to angrily seek revenge. Jesus did not get angry or seek revenge because He knew there was a greater reason for His enemies. Greater faith always proceeds with greater purpose.

Pray to live with a greater purpose.
