This mind is yours in Christ Jesus.
The only way we can look at the interests of others is through the mind of Christ. Jesus humbled himself by becoming obedient to God even to death on the cross. We must force our flesh to submit (Rom. 8:13). Two of the greatest obstacles that hinder our ability to conform is anguish and agitation. In anguish, we refuse to look up because we are too hurt. In agitation, we refuse to look up because we are too hurried. Take your hurt and hurry to Jesus. “Let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God” (2 Cor. 7:10). When we become like Jesus, we create a community where everyone belongs.
Pray that God makes you like Jesus.
