I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
Peter asked Jesus how many times he shall forgive others because he wanted to count. Jewish tradition limited forgiveness to three times, but Peter was willing to forgive seven times. He thought his generous forgiveness would surpass the righteousness of the Pharisees. Have you ever felt that you have offered someone enough forgiveness? Jesus calls us to unlimited forgiveness. If you desire mercy from your Father, your mercy for others must often go farther than you anticipated. “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy” (Matt. 5:7).
Pray to show others unlimited forgiveness.
